Elderton Barossa Valley Rose
Description
Our vineyard, located in Greenock in the west of the Barossa Valley was added to the Elderton family in 2010 and is a great addition to the portfolio. The 60 acre vineyard has plantings back to 1915 and a terroir that has been in demand by many of the Barossa’s elite winemakers. The vines were cordon cut and the fruit allowed to desiccate for weeks on the vine. Small parts of our Mourvedre and Grenache blocks on our Greenock vineyard were identified early in the ripening process to be ideal for the production of our Rosé. Picking the fruit ripe to ensure the wine has flavor, but early enough (weeks before we picked the rest of the grapes for our GSM) to retain delicious acidity has allowed us to create the type of Rose that will put a smile on the face of anyone who drinks it. Dry, zesty, and pretty!

Tasting Notes
Elderton Barossa Valley Rosé is dry and a blend of Mourvèdre (70%) and Grenache (30%) that has a deep gray color with aromas of rose flower, guava, and a hint of orange blossom. The acidity is crisp, and the wine is short on the palate.
