These persimmons are typically squat and round, resembling a slightly flattened tomato. They also have a crisp texture, similar to an apple and are sweet and can be eaten while still firm. To enjoy, just trim the leaf-like flower stem, then slice the fruit lengthwise. Remove seeds and inner stem if any. The peel is edible as well, but eating it is messy when the fruit is ripe.
